PHASE 001
FINDING OUT ABOUT DREAMLAND. WHAT WAS IT OR IS IT THAT MAKES IT SO SPECIAL TO THE PEOPLE OF MARAGTE?
LEARNING ABOUT MARGATE AND WHAT IT HAS TO OFFER.
DREAMLAND HERITAGE PRESENTATION, 100 YEARS:
FILLED WITH NOSTALGIA, EVERYONE HAD THEIR BEST MEMORIES IN DREAMLAND.
IT WAS A PLACE TO DRESS UP AND HAVE FUN, PEOPLE OF ALL AGES ENJOYED IT, THERE WAS NO AGE LIMIT OR DISCRIMINATION.
FIRST AMUSEMENT RIDES OPENED IN 1880, AFTER THE CIRCUS ACTS IN DREAMLAND. IT WAS NOT UNTIL 1920 THAT IT WAS GRADE II LISTED. JOHN HENRY ILES PURCHASED MARGATE’S ‘THE HALL BY THE SEA’, HAVING A VISION FOR TURNING THE DANCE AND MUSIC HALL INTO AN AMERICAN-STYLE AMUSEMENT PARK. HE BUILT THE NOW ICONIC ‘SCENIC RAILWAY’ AS A MARK OF INTENT.
THE RIDE BECAME BOTH A FAVOURITE OF VISITORS AND LOCALS, HAVING THE PANORAMIC VIEW OF THE SEA FRONT.
THE FIRST HALF OF DREAMLAND’S 1940s WAS DOMINATED BY THE WAR EFFORT ON THE HOME FRONT AND OVERSEAS. THE CINEMA AND BALLROOM REMAINED OPEN. SUMMER SEASON IN 1940 WERE ABANDONED WHEN DREAMLAND SITE WAS RE-QUESTIONED BY THE GOVERNMENT.
THE RESTAURANTS SERVED AS TREATMENT CENTRES FOR THE WOUNDED AND THE BALLROOM WAS CONVERTED TO A MAKESHIFT DORMITORY FOR TROOPS. GARDEN CAFE WAS USED AS AN INTERROGATION CENTRE TO ROOT OUT POSSIBLE SPIES AND ARMOURERS. IN 1946 THE AMUSEMENT PARK WAS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN.
1950s MARKED A NEW ERA OF HOPE AND OF LEISURE AFTER THE AUSTERITY OF THE WAR YEARS. MODERN DESIGN AND OPTIMISM CAME INTO SPACE. THE 1960s WAS A CLASSIC TIME, THE YOUTH CULTURE BECOMING, THE ECONOMY ON THE RISE AND GROWING NUMBERS OF DAY TRIPPERS FROM LONDON, BRINGING FASHION FROM ACROSS THE CAPITAL.
DREAMLAND GAVE MARGATE YET ANOTHER ICONIC STRUCTURE IN 1980, IN THE SHAPE OF THE NEW ‘BIG WHEEL’ . ALL THE RIDES WERE FREE AND THIS ATTRACTED MANY YOUTHS FROM AND OUTSIDE MARAGTE.
IN 1990 DREAMLAND GOT ITS FULL NAME BACK, MORE GREENERY WAS ADDED TO LANDSCAPE AROUND THE RIDES AND THE CINEMA WAS RENOVATED. FREE ADMISSION TO THE SITE ALSO RETURNED ON 1995. THE ICONIC BIG WHEEL WAS DISMANTLED AND SOLD TO MEXICAN BUYERS.
IN 2000 THERE WERE RUMOURS OF CLOSURE, DEMOLITION AND A POTENTIAL CHANGE OF OWNERS WERE ALL RIFE AS THE NEW MILLENNIUM WAS USHERED IN, WITH EMPTY SPACES ON FUTURE. ‘SAVE DREAMLAND CAMPAIGN’ CAME IN 2003, THE GROUP RAPIDLY GREW TO 13,000 IN THE UK AND AROUND THE WORLD, GAINING INFLUENCE WITH IMPORTANT BODIES SUCH AS THE ENGLISH HERITAGE. THE DREAMLAND CINEMA ALSO SUFFERED, CLOSING IN 2007. THE FOLLOWING YEAR IN 2008 THE ‘SCENIC RAILWAY’ BURNT FOR REAL IN APRIL.
IN 2014, IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARK WOULD BE REDEVELOPED. THE DREAMLAND TRUST STEPPED DOWN AND ‘SANDS’ TOOK OVER . DREAMLAND THEN REOPENED IN JUNE 2015.

DURING OUR SITE VISIT WE WERE ALL SPLIT UP INTO DIFFERENT GROUPS AND THE CAFE WAS SPLIT INTO THREE ZONES. THIS MADE IT EASIER TO GET MEASUREMENTS OF EACH THING IN THE CAFE. IT ALSO ENABLED US TO GET THE MEASUREMENTS FASTER BY SHARING WITH OTHER GROUPS.
MY GROUP WAS IN CHARGE OF MEASURING ZONE ONE (BOTTOM). WE HAD TO MAKE SURE THAT EACH THING WAS MEASURED TO THE BEST WE COULD. IT WAS FUN AND EXCITING TO WORK WITH PEOPLE I HAD NOT ALREADY WORKED WITH, MADE FRIENDS.

WE DID A WORKSHOP FOR THE WHOLE DAY WHERE WE CREATED DIFFERENT MODELS RESPONDING TO DIFFERENT VERBS, IN MY CASE I CHOSE "CONNECTIVITY" "TENSION" "TEXTURE" AND "CURIOSITY"

TENSION AND TEXTURE

I STARTED OFF BY USING PLAIN CARDBOARD TO CREATE MY STRUCTURE, THIS WAS THEN PASSED ALONG MY TABLE OF 5 PEOPLE WHERE EACH INDIVIDUAL ADDED ONTO THIS MODEL TO CREATE SOMETHING ELSE.
THE END RESULT WAS CHAOTIC!
AGAIN, I USED CARDBOARD AS MY BASE . TO GET THE "TENSION" AND "TEXTURE" ASPECT I USED LEFT OVER CURTAIN MATERIAL IN DIFFERENT WAYS LIKE TWIRLING, CUTTING AND SHREDDING IT APART. ALONGSIDE USING METAL WIRE TO ADD THAT SUPPORT.
CURIOSITY AND TENSION


USING CARDBOARD AS THE MAIN ELEMENT WITH METAL WIRE. "CURIOSITY" IS FOUND THROUGH THE LAYERING OF DIFFERENT THINGS AS WELL AS THE METAL WIRE SHOWING "TENSION"
TEXTURE AND CONNECTIVITY


COMBINING ALL THE MATERIALS I HAD IN THE STUDIO I CREATED A MODEL FOR "TEXTURE" AND "CONNECTIVITY". EVERYTHING FOUND IN THIS MODEL IS CONNECTED, EVEN EVER SO SLIGHTLY.

I WANTED TO BRING THE PAST TO THE PRESENT DAY, I WAS ABLE TO DO THIS BY SEARCHING PHOTO'S OF THE VICTORIAN TIMES ON THE INTERNET AND GOING TO THE EXACT SAME PLACE IN MARGATE ON MY SECOND VISIT. WHAT YOU SEE IN THE SLIDE SHOW IS THE BEFORE AND AFTER OF THE EXACT SAME PLACE.

HERE IS A BEFORE AND AFTER OF THE PLACES I WAS INTERESTED ON MY SECOND VISIT TO MARGATE. IT IS COMBINED WITH OLD VICTORIAN PHOTOS AND PRESENT DAY PHOTOS. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET THE SAME THING BUT I MANAGED TO DO IT!

TRANSPORTATION POSTER - MAPPING OUT THE JOURNEY FROM LONDON TO MARGATE. I FOCUSED ON LONDON AS FROM THE 1950'S - 1960'S WAS WHERE LONDONERS TRAVELLED TO MARGATE AND INTRODUCED THE HIGH TREND FASHION. LONDON IMPACTED MARGATE A LOT.

PHOTOGRAPHIC SURVEY - I PLACED THE PHOTO'S I TOOK FROM THE SITE AND AROUND MARGATE ON THE EXISTING FLOOR PLAN AS I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT WAY TO BRING EVERYTHING WITHIN THE SITE AS THESE ELEMENTS ARE WHAT MAKE UP DREAMLAND.
SITE MODEL
FIRSTLY MY TEAM: RADIKHA AND JULIA.
WE PICKED OUT OUR SITE AREA THAT WE WERE INTERESTED IN, THIS INCLUDED THE RAILWAY STATION, HOTELS, THE BIG COUNCIL BUILDING AND THE BEACH. WE STARTED OF BY GETTING ALL THE MEASUREMENTS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL BUILDING TO START.
WE STARTED TO CONSTRUCT EACH BUILDING USING BALSA WOOD. ONCE ALL THE BUILDINGS WERE COMPLETE WE TOOK THEM DOWN TO THE CERAMICS ROOM WHERE WE FILLED THESE BUILDINGS WITH PLASTER.








ON THE RIGHT WE STARTED TO MAKE THE TYPOGRAPHY OF THE LANDSCAPE WE THEN COVERED THIS IN MODROCK.


ON THE RIGHT WE STARTED PAINTING IN THE RAILWAY TRACKS WHICH WE THEN LATER ON ADDED METAL WIRE FOR THE DETAIL.





ON THE RIGHT WE TESTED FURTHER WITH WAX ADDING ACRYLIC PAINT TO SEE HOW OUR SEA WILL TURN OUT. THE BIGGER SQUARE IS SOLELY ACRYLIC WITH WAX AND THE SMALLER ONE WAS ACTUALLY AN ACCIDENTAL AFFECT BUT IT TURNED OUT BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE. WHICH IS ALWAYS THE CASE. NO?








ALL WE HAD LEFT TO DO WAS THE ROADS BUT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES WE HAD FROM THIS VIRUS WE WERE UNABLE TO COMPLETE IT.
SECTIONAL MODEL 1:50




MY OTHER TEAM MATES CREATED AN AUTO CAD FILE SO THEY COULD LASER CUT THE PIECES THEY NEEDED, TO ENSURE ALL THE MEASUREMENTS WERE CORRECT AND MATCHED UP. USING MDF THEY MADE SURE THEY LASER CUT THE MDF WITH THE FLOOR PLAN ENGRAVED ON IT SO IT WAS EASIER FOR THEM TO ASSEMBLE ALL THE PIECES AFTER.
FOR EACH OBJECT, THEY CAREFULLY THOUGHT ABOUT HOW THEY WANTED TO COLOUR IT. FOR EXAMPLE: FOR THE COLUMNS THEY KEPT ITS ORIGINALITY OF THE BURNT LASER CUT SIDE AS IT MATCHED WITH THE COLOUR OF THE COLUMNS IN REAL LIFE. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS SPRAY PAINTED IN DIFFERENT SHADES OF GREY'S WHICH IS SHOWN FOR THE BASE (FLOOR). THEY MADE SURE THEY ADDED SHADOWS AND TEXTURE THROUGH USING THE SPRAY PAINT AND DIFFERENT BRUSHES.
WHERE THE WINDOWS ARE THEY USED LEFT OVER CARDBOARD WHICH THEY INSERTED IN THE LASER CUTTER MACHINE ALSO TO ENSURE PRECISENESS, THEY THEN PAINTED THAT GREEN. THE ACTUAL WINDOWS THEY USED ACETATE AND PLACED THEM WITHIN THE TWO WALLS.
THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING THE STAIRCASE AND THE REST OF THE FLOORS IN THIS WAY, BUT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES THEY HAD, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE IT.

NARRATIVE:
I WANTED TO FIGURE OUT WHY THESE BEAUTIFUL PLACES (LIDO SWIMMING POOL, WINTER GARDENS AND THE CLOCK TOWER) ARE STRUCTURES THAT EVERYONE GOES BY EVERYDAY WITHOUT RECOGNISING THEM ANYMORE.
WHY? WHY WERE THEY LEFT TO GET IN THE STATE THEY ARE NOW. IS IT BECAUSE SOCIETY HAS CHANGED AND THE LOCALS WANT SOMETHING NEW? OR IS IT BECAUSE THE YOUNGER GENERATION NOW ARE ALWAYS INSIDE PLAYING GAMES ONLINE AND NOT EXPLORING ENOUGH ABOUT THE COMMUNITY THEY LIVE IN.
I ALSO WANTED TO FIGURE OUT WHY MINORITIES LIKE HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE LOOKED DOWN UPON IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. I WANT TO DEFEND THEM AND GIVE THEM A LIFESTYLE, A NEW CHANCE AT LIFE.
SO, I WANTED TO CREATE A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME IN THIS CAFE/RESTAURANT AND ARE ABLE TO SOCIALISE TOGETHER THROUGH FOOD. ANOTHER THING I WANTED TO ENSURE WAS THAT THE YOUNGSTERS INTERACT WITH THE ADULTS MORE SO THEY CAN LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THEIR TOWN/COMMUNITY.
THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED BY FIRSTLY ALLOWING THE MINORITIES TO WORK IN THIS PLACE FOR A MONTH TO GAIN THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED TO MOVE ON, INSIDE THIS SPACE WILL BE A KITCHEN WHERE HOPEFULLY HEAD CHEF (MASSIMO BOTURRA) WILL WORK HELPING WITH ORDERS AND TRAINING. THERE WILL ALSO BE TOILETS WITH A SEPARATE STAND IN SHOWER TO ENSURE HYGIENE AND IN THE BACK BEHIND THE TILLS WILL BE TWO WASHING MACHINES TO ALLOW THOSE STAYING THERE TO WASH THEIR CLOTHES AND KEEP THEM CLEAN.
ONE DAY A WEEK, THERE WILL BE A DAY WHERE THE SPACE WILL BE USED MORE AS A VENUE WHERE IMMIGRANTS WHO STILL HAVEN'T MANAGED TO GET SETTLED IN OR HAVE NO CONTACT CAN COME IN AND SHARE THEIR HOME COOKED FOOD WITH EVERYONE AND WITH THE HELP OF MASSIMO BOTTURA, HE WILL HELP THOSE WHO WISH TO COOK THAT DISH AT HOME BY GETTING THE RECIPE FROM THOSE WHO COOKED IT WITH CONSENT.
THERE WILL BE ADJUSTABLE FURNITURE WHERE THROUGH OUT THE DAY THEY WILL BE NORMAL SEATING'S FOR CUSTOMERS BUT AT NIGHT THEY WILL TRANSFORM INTO A BED TO ALLOW THOSE WORKING THERE TO HAVE A PLACE TO SLEEP AND OFF THE STREETS.
MODELS:
QUICK SPATIAL VERBS MODELS - THESE MODELS WERE ALL MADE IN 5 MINUTES. THEY WERE RESPONDING TO THE SIX SPATIAL VERBS WE PICKED BEFORE HAND. THEY WERE ALSO MADE WITH THE MATERIALS WE CURRENTLY HAD.




THIS MODEL WAS INSPIRED BY "NESTING" AS MY SPATIAL VERB.
I USED CARDBOARD AS THE BASE AND THEN USED GREY LEFT OVER PAPER THAT I CUT UP, MAKING SURE IT WAS THE SAME WIDTH ALL THE WAY ACROSS FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL STRIP.
ONCE I HAVE THE STRIPS READY I BEGAN TO EXPERIMENT WITH FOLDING THEM IN A WAY THEY CONNECTED TO CREATE THAT "NESTING" AFFECT.
THE END RESULT WAS GREAT, I WAS PLEASED WITH HOW IT CAME OUT, ON THE LEFT HERE (<) YOU CAN SEE THE END RESULT FROM A PLAN VIEW. I FIDDLED AROUND WITH THE ANGLE AND WHERE ABOUT ON THE EXISTING FLOOR PLAN, TO KNOW THAT THE PERFECT FIT WAS HERE.
THIS IS PLACED OUTSIDE THE EXISTING KITCHEN I'M ASSUMING, WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE BACK OF THE SITE.
I WAS THINKING THIS WILL BE A GOOD MODEL CONCEPT FOR A SEATING POD. OBVIOUSLY IN REAL LIFE THE GREY AREA WILL BE MADE OUT OF ALUMINIUM TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF NUMEROUS PEOPLE.





THIS MODEL WAS INSPIRED BY "ROTATING" , " EXPAND" AND "STRETCHING" AS MY SPATIAL VERBS.
THIS WAS REALLY ABOUT USING THE EXISTING MATERIALS I HAD AND MAKING SOMETHING THAT WAS UNIQUE, THE THING THAT INSPIRED ME THE MOST TO CREATE THIS MODEL WAS "TIME". I WAS VERY INTERESTED IN TIME, MOSTLY THE HISTORY OF TIME. THE PAST AND PRESENT.
THIS RELATES BACK TO MY EPHEMERAL PHOTOS I TOOK (SCROLL UP).
BACK TO THIS MODEL, I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE DIFFERENT PLACES IT COULD GO AND WHAT IT CAN ACT AS.
ON THE LEFT AND TOP RIGHT I WAS THINKING IT COULD ACT AS A WALL THAT IN THE MORNING IT WOULD BE THIS DIVIDER BUT THEN AT NIGHT IT WILL STRETCH AND CLOSE OFF THE SITE IN HALF.
THE TOP LEFT AND MIDDLE IS THE MODEL LAYING FLAT, THIS COULD BE A SEATING, WHERE THE PEOPLE WOULD BE ABLE TO ROTATE THEMSELVES. IT GIVES THAT INTERACTIVE FEEL.


THESE MODELS WERE CREATED AFTER THE SPATIAL VERB WORKSHOP. I JUST EXPERIMENTED WITH DIFFERENT MATERIALS AND FORMS AND USED THE CERAMICS WORKSHOP TO USE THE PLASTER.

USING THE ENVIRONMENTAL NOTATION DIAGRAMS, I WAS ABLE TO FIND A STARTING POINT IN MY DESIGN. I HIGHLIGHTED THE KEY POINTS AND THEY RESULTED IN THESE GREAT CURVED FORMS. THIS INSTANTLY GAVE ME AN IDEA.


WITH USING THE HYBRID DRAWING IDEA AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL NOTATION DIAGRAMS, I STARTED TO DEVELOP THE DESIGN FURTHER.
I THOUGHT ABOUT HOW EACH FUNCTION WORKED WITHIN THE SPACE AND WHERE CERTAIN THINGS WOULD GO. FOR EXAMPLE, WAITING AREA, NORMAL SEATING AREA, RECEPTION ETC.
IN ADDITION TO THIS I THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT MATERIALS I WANTED TO USE. IN THIS CASE, I WANTED TO USE WOODEN PLANKS THAT WOULD CURVE AROUND THE MAIN STRUCTURE LIKE SO.
I ALSO THOUGHT MORE ABOUT HOW THE ORDER PROCESS WORKED. I KNOW I PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED THIS IN MY MARGATE PRESENTATION BUT IT WAS NECESSARY TO GO OVER AGAIN.
IT WAS A GOOD IDEA FOR ME TO SKETCH OUT WHAT I WAS THINKING ON PAPER SO THAT I COULD VISUALLY SEE THE RIGHT AND WRONG IN THE IDEA'S.



BELOW YOU CAN SEE THREE SETS OF THREE DIFFERENT FLOOR PLANS. EACH FLOOR PLAN WAS CAREFULLY DRAWN TO 1:50 SCALE ON A4.
I NEED TO VISUALLY SEE WHAT MY DESIGN IDEA'S LOOKED LIKE IN FRONT OF ME BEFORE I WENT AHEAD AND CREATED MY RHINO DRAWING.
IN SOME CASES IT WAS A CASE WHERE JUST A SIMPLE CHANGE IN THE LAYOUT HELPED EVERYTHING IN THAT PARTICULAR DESIGN BETTER.
YOU CAN SEE THIS IN THE TOILET PLANS, IT WAS MOSTLY LEARNING AND TACKLING THE HARD PARTS LIKE THE FACT THE TOILET SPACE IS QUITE SMALL WILL THIS ACTUALLY WORK IN REAL LIFE? I STARTED TO QUESTION EVERY SINGLE ASPECT I COULD.
IN THE END IT WORKED OUT AND YOU CAN SEE FROM THE DRAWINGS I WAS ABLE TO PRODUCE ON AUTO CAD AND RHINO.

USING THE MODELS I MADE BEFORE HAND, I WANTED TO DEVELOP THERE FUNCTIONALITY MORE. FOR EXAMPLE ON THE LEFT YOU HAVE A PLASTER MODEL THAT HAS BEEN DESTROYED IN THE MIDDLE TO CREATE THIS FORM.
I REALISED ONCE I TRACED OVER IT, IT REMINDED ME OF A BIRD. IT WAS A FUNNY OBSERVATION BUT THIS MADE IT MORE PERSONAL TO MYSELF AS I HAVE A FEW CANARIES AT HOME AND IT BRINGS ME BACK TO NATURE AND ITS CREATIVITY.
THIS COULD BE USED AS A SMALL WINDOW AROUND THE BUILDING WHICH WOULD HAVE LAMINATED GLASS FOR SAFETY REASONS.
THIS STRUCTURE HERE, WAS MADE USING BALSA WOOD AS PREVIOUSLY EXPLAINED IN PHASE 002. I THOUGHT THIS COULD BE USED AS A SMALL LITTLE PLAYGROUND WHERE CHILDREN CAN HAVE FUN AND INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER WHILST THERE PARENTS OR GUARDIAN WERE RELAXING.
THIS WOULD HAPPEN DURING THE DAY. THE STRUCTURE ITSELF WOULD BE SANDED DOWN, THE ASSEMBLY OF STRUCTURE WOULD BE MADE IN A SIMPLE WAY SO THAT IF ANYTHING NEEDED TO BE MOVED ABOUT IT WOULD BE EASIER TO TAKE DOWN AND RE-ASSEMBLE LATER.
BUT, ALSO BECUASE I WAS THINKING THAT THIS WOULD BE A GOOD MULTI-FUNCTIONING STRUCTURE.


ADDING TO THE PREVIOUS EXPLANATION THIS STRUCTURE WOULD BECOME A BED FOR THE HOMELESS TO SLEEP ON AT NIGHT.
THIS DIAGRAM THAT I SKETCHED OUT, EXPLAINS HOW THIS STRUCTURE WOULD BE DISASSEMBLED AND ASSEMBLED INTO A BED AT NIGHT.
WHILST I WAS DRAWING THIS OUT, IN MY HEAD IT SEEMED SIMPLE BUT TO BE REALISTIC IT WAS QUITE COMPLICATED.
WHICH THEREFORE, RESULTED TO STAY AS A PLAYGROUND STRUCTURE AND NOTHING ELSE.
I LIKED THE OVERALL POSSIBILITY BUT IN REAL LIFE IT WOULD BE VERY COMPLICATED TO MAKE.


THIS IS ANOTHER WOODEN STRUCTURE I MADE EARLIER AS A QUICK MODEL. I THOUGHT THIS COULD ACT AS A SEATING STRUCTURE LIKE A BENCH ALMOST.
SIMILAR TO THE OTHER STRUCTURE THIS WAS ALSO A MULTI- FUNCTIONING STRUCTURE.
IN THE DAY TIME IT WOULD BE A BENCH FOR TWO PEOPLE TO SIT ON AND AT NIGHT TIME IT WOULD BE TRANSFORMED INTO TWO BEDS, ALLOWING TWO PEOPLE TO SLEEP COMFORTABLY ON SEPARATE SINGLE BEDS.
AT FIRST I WAS THINKING IT COULD BE MADE INTO TWO SEPARATE HAMMOCK BEDS.
THIS WOULD NEED TWO PEOPLE TO DISASSEMBLE IT AND RE ASSEMBLE., WHERE THEY WOULD ADD THIS NET TO IT.


THEY WOULD ASSEMBLE IT LIKE SO. THEY WOULD NEED TO SCREW IN THE SCREWS AS SHOWN IN THE DIAGRAM AND THEN ATTACH THE NET IN THE CORNERS LIKE A HOOK.
AFTER SKETCHING OUT THAT IDEA, I WAS NOT SO SURE ANYMORE SO I RE-SKETCHED ANOTHER DESIGN AND I PREFERRED IT OVER THE OTHER ONE.
IT MADE MORE SENSE TO MAKE IT LIKE THIS AS IT WAS SIMPLER AND FASTER TO MAKE THE BED.
ALL THEY NEED TO BRING IS THE COSTUMED SIZED MATTRESSES OVER AND CONNECT THE END OF THE MATTRESS TO THE EXTRA LEGS FOR THE BENCH FOR STABILITY.


THIS MODEL WAS MADE USING PLASTER, THERE IS A PROCESS VIDEO IN PHASE TWO IF YOU WANT TO FIND OUT MORE.
BUT LOOKING AT THIS MODEL, I REALLY LIKED HOW IT LINKED TO MY OVERALL THEME OF CURVES. SO, I WAS THINKING THAT THIS WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA FOR SHELVES. THE SHELVES WOULD ALSO BE MADE OUT OF WOOD TO SUIT THE AESTHETICS OF THE DECOR AND THE HEAD CHEF AND WORKERS WILL BE ABLE TO PLACE INGREDIENTS IN THE HOLES.
THESE HOLES WOULD BE DRILLED INTO THE EXISTING BRICK WALLS IN DIFFERENT CIRCUMFERENCE SIZES.
