Questionnaire:

Surprise visit at home - Woman working for the NDCS ( National Deaf Children's Society)

Since we were founded more than 70 years ago, society has come a long way. But deaf children are still falling behind at school and being let down by vital services. And they still don’t have the same opportunities as hearing children.

Woman explaining:

“21 children are born being deaf a week, that makes it 3 a day. Around 90% don’t get support because they come from perfectly hearing parents.”

“ a lot of families don’t know where to get accessibility from…”

“We go into schools and teach kids sign language and Makaton.. So, its more inclusive to everyone”

“we provide both emotional and practical support for the families”
